Our Energy Centre  is a beacon for the most advanced, efficient energy solutions for the homes, farms and businesses of the Deep South. When you visit the Energy Centre, you’ll get to experience and enjoy the huge range of options available to help you warm, dry, brighten and eco-power your buildings. Whether you’re interested in insulation, solar power, hot water heat pumps, LED lighting or other new advances in energy technology, you’ll be able to find out how it works – and what it costs – at the Energy Centre.

We’re open to visitors every weekday from 9 am to 5 pm – drop in for a chat at 117 Eye Street.

Choose the right sized externally vented extractor fan for the job, a fan to small wont remove moist air and a fan too large can create draughts, ensure you have automatic controls, such as a timer which runs for 20 minutes after it is turned off.

If you have mould growing inside your house clean it with white vinegar as this kills it and then try and ventilate daily by opening windows

A reminder to organise your firewood during summer ready for next winter, to ensure its nice and dry, ready for burning

Net curtains prevent free solar gain from the sun to heat your home, only use if necessary

Check hot water temperature, make sure it’s at 55 degrees at the tap (60 degrees at the Hot Water Cylinder)
